Liesl brings over two decades of diverse leadership experience, holding roles of increasing responsibility at multinational enterprises such as Verizon and IBM and early-stage SaaS companies. Recently, she headed up growth marketing at Bitsight, a cyber risk management leader, and served as CMO at CyberGRX, an early-stage cyber risk management platform.

Liesl’s addition to the Executive team as our first Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is a major milestone for us, as it underscores our continued investment into marketing to achieve our vision of Procurement Paradise.

For this next chapter of Tropic’s journey, it was important for us to hire a highly experienced, data-driven CMO who strikes the balance between long-term strategic thinking and integrated execution to position our marketing engine as a strong growth lever for our business.

From my early conversations with her, it was clear that Liesl checked all the boxes. Coupled with her expertise, the excitement she has for building high-growth companies assured me she was the right leader to propel Tropic into the future.

The industry remains ripe for transformation. As Liesl says, “Procurement is undergoing rapid digital transformation and technology adoption while contending with geo-political, environmental, and economic challenges.”

She is committed to making Tropic the center of this transformation and is fully invested in our mission: Make procurement teams the heroes of their organizations by empowering them with unprecedented visibility, control, and leverage over their spend.

Liesl’s appreciation for a traditionally overlooked function like procurement energizes us. Her leadership will shine an even bigger spotlight on this function, helping us drive greater bottom-line impact for modern finance and procurement teams.

We couldn’t be more thrilled to learn from her and work alongside her. Welcome, Liesl! 🌴
